LC Packaging

BREEAM outstanding and elegant distribution centre

For their 95th anniversary, LC Packaging wanted to realise headquarters and a warehouse that moves with the times. And the fifth generation of the family company in packaging material succeeded in this. The building in Waddinxveen was completed in 2020 and immediately got the BREEAM outstanding score.

To achieve the highest sustainability score, all facets of building sustainably have to be taken into consideration from the design stage onwards.

CO2 emission and the energy and water use was reduced considerably. And on both the inside and outside, sustainable materials were used.

The round, steel staircase immediately catches the eye because of the natural light coming in

A pleasant working place for employees was front and centre in the design of Quadrant4. From inside the office, you look out of the glass walls and see the green waterside. The round, steel staircase immediately catches the eye, because it bathes in natural light coming in from the glass dome above.

Wooden accents and greenery for decoration: natural elements are fully present inside. A fitness room is installed for the employees. Natural lighting is widely featured through the glass walls and high quality, sustainable artificial lighting is mixed in for optimal work comfort.

Indirect lighting falls in at the workspaces via pendant LED luminaires. This form of lighting creates a more pleasant work atmosphere. The pendant luminaires create a more spacious feeling. The elegant, extensive light stripes account for the basic lighting, alternated with LED spots for lighting accents. In the daylight domes, cove lighting is placed. The effect of the dome is hereby strengthened in the design.
